 Religious education in England and Wales does an enormous amount to promote understanding between people belonging to or associated with different religious traditions. School students in England and Wales, unlike those in many countries, have the opportunity through religious education not only to learn about their own religion and culture, but to understand and appreciate the religious ways of life of others.
