Introduction
This activity explores the significance of religious artefacts and the ways they are used by individuals and communities. In addition it gives pupils the chance to reflect on the symbolic importance of these objects/artefacts.

Activity

• Carry out some research into religious artefacts and how they are used. Select five artefacts which have meaning in the lives of believers - both individuals and communities.
• Create a digital presentation (e.g. PowerPoint, movie, a digital poster or Prezi) which clearly explains: the choice of artefacts, their symbolism and the significance or importance to believers.

The presentation should show:

• an understanding of how each of the five artefacts is used
• an understanding of their symbolism
• an understanding of the significance for a believer or faith community.
